Question: What can hiv do to us? › View responses (1)
Question: I had sex with a virgin a few days ago but without a condom should i be worried? and how long after should i go for a std/HIV test? › View responses (1)
The Sexpert Response:
It is best practise to always be safe and wear a condom and use water based lube at all times during sex. Relying on your partner’s say that he or she is a virgin should not factor into your decision to not be safe in sex. It is advised to have regular STD and HIV checks at least every six months so the sooner the better.

There are many people who suffer from this problem but are still able to enjoy great sex on the ‘bottom bunk’. Question: the condoms they sell are always too big for me, how can I know the condom's size, and where can I find the smaller ones? › View responses (1)
The Sexpert Response:
There are plenty smaller condoms out there, they will usually be labelled ‘tight fit’, ‘narrow fit’ or ‘snug fit’. You should be able to purchase them in any supermarket or chemist. You could also purchase online and have them sent to you. The sizes are in milimetres and will be written on the outside of the box. A link to the different sizes you will normally see is here. http://www.getiton.co.nz/condoms-lube/the-perfect-fit/

The Sexpert Response:
HIV is the Human Immunodeficiency Virus that causes failure of part of the immune system. The immune system is important because it defends the body from infection and disease. HIV infects and destroys key cells in the body. It particularly targets a cell called CD4 (also known as a T4 cell, or T-helper cell). CD4 cells are an essential component of the immune system which it is important in protecting the body against infection and disease.
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) refers to a range of specific illness that people with HIV may get when their immune system is badly damaged. These illnesses include infections and cancers.
The presence of HIV in the body is not an AIDS diagnosis. Having HIV in your body does not mean you have AIDS. It is possible to have HIV for many years but show no symptoms that define AIDS.
