“At the beginning of this year, my flatmate's partner moved in. She is a lovely lady and an awesome cook and I had no hesitations when I was asked how I felt about it. However, what I didn't realise was how much of a dynamic change living with a couple can sometimes be - not necessarily to the overall household but to the person not in the relationship i.e. me.
As someone who is single, I've always treated the place I live as a refuge or escape from the pressures of the outside world. I'm also that person who stands at the bus stop trying to mind my own business but glaring as the couple next to me tongue-wrestle with each other - I want to yell out "get a f***ing room!". It's safe to say that PDAs (public displays of affection) are not my cup of tea .....” read more
